Three charged with manufacturing meth in Pomfret

Three people are facing drug charges for allegedly manufacturing meth.

On Wednesday at about 11 p.m. the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of subjects trespassing in a residence at 5251 Webster Road. Upon arrival at the residence, officers located and detained Jessica Rumsey, 40, and Andrew Lindstrom, 25, as well as Tyler Janes, 29, of 8250 Rood Road, Cherry Creek. Rumsey and Lindstrom were living at the Webster Road residence, however according to deputies, the two were not allowed to live there. During the investigation, officers allegedly located items that were consistent with methamphetamine production.

All three subjects were charged with one count each of second-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree unlawful manufacturing. All three were then arraigned in Pomfret Town Court and subsequently sent to the Chautauqua County Jail pending further action of the court. Bail was set at $15,000 cash/$30,000 property bond for Lindstrom and Jaynes and $20,000 cash/$40,000 property bond for Rumsey.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) then performed a further search and remediation of the crime scene. As a result of this search and evidence collection additional charges and are pending against each of the subjects.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Dunkirk Police Department. Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call when they observe suspicious or narcotics related activity in their neighborhood at either 800-344-8702 or 363-0313.
