Activists in Fredonia’s Barker Common joined a nationwide protest Thursday in support of protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election. The protests came in response to President Trump installing longtime ally Matthew Whitaker as Acting Attorney General, taking over oversight of the Mueller investigation from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Protesters think Whitaker should recuse himself over alleged conflicts of interest, along with previous statements attacking the investigation. The nationwide protest was organized by a coalition of public interest organizations. More information can be found at TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw.org.
