LoGuidice Educational Center holds Career Fest

Medaille College was one of the 20 college and career opportunities represented during the annual LoGuidice Educational Center Career Fest.

More than 20 college and career representatives participated recently in the LoGuidice Educational Center Career Fest.

The three-day-long event for Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Career and Technical Education juniors and seniors emphasizes college and career readiness.

“This event is very near and dear to me,” said Alycia Lacki, LoGuidice Educational Center counselor. “The students leave with a lot of information. It is often the spark some students need to find their post-graduation path.”

Students attended a presentation by Brandon Gilliland, SUNY Fredonia director of financial aid, on scholarship and financial aid opportunities and met with Ken Monaco, Medaille College associate director of undergraduate admissions, who provided a lighthearted interviewing skills workshop. Career Fest culminated with a gathering of college and career representatives for students to speak with.

“This is usually a catalyst to get students thinking and prompts action, whether that’s scheduling a college visit, meeting with myself to apply for a college or simply gathering information about military or business options,” Lacki said.
