Marion L. Barnum

Marion L. Barnum of Dunkirk, N.Y., died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, N.Y. She was born in Westfield, N.Y., on August 14, 1925 to the late Ivan and Margaret Raynor. During her lifetime, Marion managed a restaurant, a Hallmark store, and a laundromat and drove school bus in Ohio. While living in Ohio, she belonged to several organizations, including the Grange and Sportsman

Clubs. She had been a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dunkirk, N.Y., and was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Stars in East Palestine, Ohio. Marion enjoyed cooking and baking and she was a creative cake decorator. Her hobbies included ceramics, gardening, quilting, word puzzles, bowling and traveling around the world. Marion was a truly unique person. As matriarch of the family, she would regularly send 500 handwritten letters to the members of her family. She kept a log of all the family names, birthdates, addresses, telephone

numbers, weddings, births, deaths etc. Marion is survived by her daughter Bobbie Shaw of Dunkirk, N.Y., and sons; Ronald (Linda) and Daniel

(Eadie) Weigle, two grandchildren, Chris Vesey-Burr and Derrick Sherwood of Arizona, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her brothers; David, Robert, Gordon, Edward and R. Michael Raynor also survive her as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Weigle and Floyd P. Barnum, her grandchild,

Thomas Vesey, brothers; Mineford Kopta, Ivan Jr., Paul and Dale Raynor and sisters; Calarisse Kopta and Carolyn Fink. Marion was famous for

her hugs. It was her philosophy that everyone needed a hug and expect to receive hugs from her eternal place in Heaven. Arrangement by the The Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main St. Fredonia, N.Y. Memorial Service will be held July 11, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the St. John’s United Church of Christ Dunkirk, N.Y.

She was 79 years of age and passed away at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dun-kirk, N.Y.
