FREDONIA —  Betty A. Janisch, 86, a resident of Fredonia Place, Howard Street, Fredonia, formerly of Sheridan, died suddenly Tuesday, November 22nd,

2016 at her residence.  She was born in Oil City, PA on April 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Leon A. and Anna V. (Henris) Scott. She was a graduate of

Dunkirk High School, Class of 1947 and attended Grove City College.  Mrs. Janisch worked as an Administrative Assistant for Newbrook Machine, Silver

Creek, for 10 years and previously worked for the former Evening OBSERVER, Dunkirk and SUNY Fredonia.  She was a member of the Arbutus Triangle, the former Sylvan Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Dunkirk and Sheridan United Methodist Church. Mrs. Janisch loved to sew, making clothes for her children, making sewing crafts & creating beautiful quilts.  She also loved her family and will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. Survivors include three

sons Michael (Amanda) Janisch, of Dunkirk; David (Laura) Janisch, of Ft. Wayne, IN; Daniel (Teresa) Janisch, of Elmira; two daughters, Susan (Charles)

Gatto, of Fredonia; Patricia (John) Rickert, of Warren, PA; and son-in-law Randy Hays of Arizona.  Also surviving are many grandchildren and many great

grandchildren.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Richard M. Janisch, whom she married in the Sheridan United Methodist Church

in 1950 and who died January 27, 1989, and by a daughter Linda Hays, who died in 2012. Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main

Street, Forestville on Friday, from 4-8 pm, from where  Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. James Spiller, pastor of

Sheridan United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Sheridan Center Cemetery, Town of Sheridan. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Sheridan Fire Dept., PO Box 122, Sheridan, NY 14135.  To post condolences go to
