Herman K. Lasch

Herman K. “Bob” Lasch passed away at age 92, on February 21, 2017.

He was born in Buffalo, NY on December 1, 1924, the son of the late Herman K. and Esther (Scoones) Lasch.

He grew up in Buffalo and attended Buffalo schools and the University of Buffalo.

He served in the Army during WWII, in the European Theater. He earned five battle stars as a combat infantryman and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Silver Star for valor.

While home on furlough in 1945, he met his future wife, Demaris Carlin. They were wed November 25, 1948.

He moved to Chautauqua County in 1953, as he was employed as a sales representative for Nabisco and took a position covering much of Chautauqua County. His career as a sales rep spanned 33 years.

He retired in 1984 and enjoyed a 33-year retirement, golfing, gardening, traveling, and working on his coin collection, among other things.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Demaris C. Lasch; and his four children, Claudia (Gary) Deiboldt, Todd (Wendy) Lasch, Demaris A. Lasch and James Lasch. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren.
