DUNKIRK — Norma L. Youngberg, 86, a resident of Symphony Living, Washington Avenue, Dunkirk, formerly of Forestville, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Dunkirk, following a short illness.

She was born in Dunkirk on May 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Marion (Golden) Wills. Mrs. Youngberg was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1948, at one time she worked for Forestville Central School in the cafeteria and was employed by the Office of the Aging as manager of the Forestville Senior Citizens luncheon site.

Mrs. Youngberg was a member of the Forestville United Methodist Church, the Pioneer Social Club Forestville, Forestville Chapter #247, Order of Eastern Star, where she was a Past Matron in both 1973 & 2000, was Grand Color Bearer for the State of New York in 1984 and was a Past President of the former Forestville Fireman’s Auxiliary, of which she was very active. She enjoyed doing charcoal drawings, acrylic paintings and loved gardening.

Survivors include two sons: Donald (Peg) Young-berg, of Forestville; Kenneth Youngberg, of Dun-kirk; three daughters: Su-san Korbar, of Gowanda; Gail Frederickson, of South Dayton; and Shannon (Walter) Szablewski, of Forestville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Gerald E. Youngberg, whom she married Jan. 1, 1949 and who died Aug. 30, 1985, by a sister Wilma Greenough and son-in-law Jack Korbar.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., from where Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock, with Pastor Grace Warren, of the Forestville United Methodist Church, officiating. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted by members of Forestville Chapter #247 at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Private Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery.
