During her lifetime, Nancy was an active member of the community. In 1971, she was crowned Queen of the Fredonia Farm Festival. Dancing with Sam was one of the great pleasures of her life. She also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Fredonia, Share & Care as well as the United Seniors organizations.
For over 35 years Nancy and Sam owned and operated St. Gorge’s Farm Market in Sheridan, NY. Besides being a great cook, she enjoyed making homemade jam and freezing fruits and vegetables.

Nancy adored her grandchildren: Rhonda (Brian) Baumgardner from South Carolina and Andrew Sam from TN, Lindsey Anne from New York City, Olivia Michelle living at home and Kelly (Michael) Moore from Buffalo. She also had three greatgrandchildren: Shiloh Baumgardner, Lillian and Henry Moore. Watching her grandchildren grow gave her great joy. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren playing soccer, baseball and dance recitals and was so grateful that she could attend her first granddaughter’s wedding.
