Elizabeth J. (McDonnell) Keddie

Elizabeth Jane (McDonnell) Keddie, 71, of Dunkirk died Wednesday (May 10, 2017) at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving following a brief illness.

She was born on July 8, 1945 in Dunkirk, a twin daughter to Ira P. and Jane L. (Mook) McDonnell in Dunkirk.

Jane graduated from Brocton Central School, Jamestown Community College with an associate degree and Fredonia State University with a bachelor’s degree in art and history, which would take her studies abroad to London, England. She previously worked at Dunkirk Ice Cream Co. and M. Wile Co. Jane loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. In her younger years, Jane spent her time volunteering for bible camp and various church activities at St. Joseph’s in Fredonia and also was a volunteer coach for Special Olympics. She also enjoyed creating art and collecting porcelain dolls.

Surviving is her son, John (Lisa) Keddie of Bellville, Ohio; two grandsons, Tristin and Preston Keddie, also of Bellville, Ohio; her significant other, Ken Narducci of Dunkirk; sisters, Patricia (late Michael) Lemanski of Fredonia, Judith (Rodney) Fisher of Portage, Ind., and Ella (late William) Gaffney of Brocton; brother, Thomas (Charlotte) McDonnell of Brocton. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her twin sister, Roberta Jean McDonnell; her brother, Ira P. McDonnell, Jr.; and a nephew, Joseph Lemanski.

Funeral services will be held Tody at 12 noon in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph A. Walter will officiate. Calling hours will be held Today from 11-12, one hour prior to the service.
