Christine A. Brooks
Christine A. Brooks of Center Street, Fredonia, passed away Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Born on August 17, 1950 in Dunkirk, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Bialaszewski Bielat. She was an area resident her entire life. She was a retired employee of Verizon. She and her late husband, Michael A. Brooks, whom she married on May 25, 1985 and who passed away on September 19, 2007, were the owners of Cabs Labs.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church. Christine enjoyed playing cards, reading, and doing puzzles. She especially valued her friendships with her Monday morning breakfast group and her Wednesday night dinner group.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy (David) McNeight of Fredonia and her brother, Daniel (Susan) Bielat of Canandaigua. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and her canine companion Zoey also survive her. She was predeceased by her infant brother, John Joseph Bielat.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Anthony’s RC Church with the Rev. Joseph Walters officiating. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
