Brian Patrick Lee, 52, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Thursday, November, 30, 2017, at his home, after a short, but hard fought, battle with mucosal melanoma cancer.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen James Lee of the home; parents, Clifford and Beatrice Lee of Brocton, N.Y.; sister and brother- in-law, Joanne and Steve Pantano of Fredonia, N.Y.; father-in-law and mother- in-law, Hunter and Mary Ellen James of Winston- Salem; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee and Donna James of Winston- Salem, and Michael and Emily James of Northport, AL; nephews, Joe Pantano of Horseheads, N.Y., Matthew Pantano of Orlando, FL, and Chris James of Winston-Salem; and nieces, Erin Pantano of Buffalo, N.Y.; and Ashley James of Winston-Salem.
He was born in Dunkirk, NY, on February 13, 1965 and moved to Greensboro, NC, in 1992.
Brian was a talented and respected friend and co-worker. Joining the Precision Cable Group of AMP in 1995, he remained there 22 years, even as the company was sold or reorganized on multiple occasions, from Tyco Electronics to TE Connectivity and most recently, Commscope, where he worked in lean continuous improvement.
Brian was a talented woodworker and enjoyed spending hours on end in his shop, designing and building cabinetry and furniture. He never did anything halfway, and his problem solving ability and patience were a perfect match for this hobby.
An accomplished dart player, Brian was respected by all of his dart league team members, as well as those he threw against in competition. He was president of the Piedmont Dart Association, an organization he cared deeply about.
An open visitation and remembrance will be held Sunday, Dec. 17, from 3-6 p.m. at the home of Lee and Donna James in Winston-Salem.
A memorial service will be held in Brian’s hometown of Brocton, N.Y., in the spring of 2018.
Memorials may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, specifying Mucosal Melanoma, to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or to the children’s charity of your choice.
