Edward Lynn Swanson

Mr. Edward Lynn Swanson was born on November 27, 1948 in Silver Creek, New York, to the Late Gerald H. Swanson and Phyllis I. Quackenbush Swanson. He was one of three sons born to this union.

Along with his parents, Edward was also preceded in death by his Father and Mother-in-law, Christy and Betty Consentine.

Edward married Nancy Lynn Boggs on July 12, 1969. They were blessed with two sons and forty-eight wonderful years together. Edward and Nancy made their home in Forestville, New York, where he was a member of the Volunteer Fire Depart-

ment. Edward drove a truck for Sorrento Cheese Company and retired in 1988 after 20 years of dedicated service.

He then moved his family to Lafayette, Tennessee. After arriving here, Edward continued his love of community volunteering and became the Chapter Chairman of the Macon County Red Cross. He helped numerous families recover from house fires and floods, and the devastating tornado of 2008. Edward was a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church, which he loved dearly. He was very involved in the church and went on several different mission trips.

Edward never met a stranger and was always willing and ready to help anyone. He loved the great outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Edward especially loved his family and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. He was a great man and will be dearly missed by all.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the age of 69 years and two days, Edward was called to his heavenly home. He is no longer suffering and is resting easy with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mr. Edward Swanson is survived by; wife, Nancy Swanson; sons, Paul (Christie) Swanson, and Scot (Rose) Swanson, all of Lafayette, Tennessee. Grandchildren, Katie (Ben) Gregory, Megan (Dennis) Swanson, and Christopher Swanson, all of Lafayette. Aundrea Paredes, of Westmoreland, Tennessee and

Lynebeth Longakit, of Lafayette. Brothers, Stephen Swanson of Lafayette, and Burl (Vicky) Swanson, of Dewittville, New York. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Swanson, were conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 4 p.m. from the Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Adolphus, Kentucky, with Reverend Chuck Pruitt and Brother Tim Napier officiating. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, in charge of arrangements.
