Robert Harry Kolodziej

Robert Harry Kolodziej, of Fredonia, N.Y. on December 15, 2017 at the age of 89, passed away peacefully at his home.

He was born December 17, 1928 to the late Harry and Genevieve in Amsterdam, NY. On June 13th, 1953 he married Mildred Thurn in Dunkirk, NY.

Robert enjoyed raising his family, the outdoors, traveling and the community of Fredonia, NY. Robert was employed at Al Tech Specialty Steel for over 40 years, was a Chautauqua County Legislator, Volunteer fire fighter for the Village of Fredonia, member of the Fredonia School board and member of Cockaigne ski resorts ski patrol.

The profound Impact of the humanitarian contributions that Robert has exemplified within our community will reverberate throughout eternity. He has changed many of our destinations in life, for the better, through his ability to share his abundant love and respect for others through his knowledge and art of invention. For those who share in our loss, I know that you will find comfort in the memories that you hold dear to your heart in being apart of Robert’s life and know that our selfless, precious and cherished father will be missed by all who have been touched by Robert’s capacity to embrace the fellowship of others.

Robert is survived by his four daughters; Mary Kolodziej and her daughter Kelly and sons Brian and Sean; Julia Kolodziej and her sons Robert Austin, Aaron and Alexander; Katherine Kolodziej and her husband Allan; Terry Hannum, her husband John and sons, Robert and Nicholas; his four sons, Robert his wife Susan and their daughter Stephanie; Steven his wife Debra; Roger his wife Nell and daughter Lauren and son Alexander, David his wife Ann and daughter Alexandra; his brother, Ronald his wife Marrianne and daughters Debra and Annette

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred and both his parents.

A celebration of Roberts’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 13th 2018. Details will be provided the week before the celebration.
