Carl P. Panfil

Carl P. Panfil, 72, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly, Friday, May 4, 2018, at home.

He was born in Buffalo, May 25, 1945, son of the late Zenon and Marie (Zebracki) Panfil.

A graduate of Dunkirk High School class of 1963, he served with the U.S. Air Force following high school.

A retired employee of Chautauqua County at the transfer station in Fredonia.

Carl could be seen regularly at Point Gratiot feeding the squirrels.

His memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R. C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth, Committeeman with Boy Scout Troop 8 and also served as assistant Scout Master, Dom Polski Club and WW II Vets.

Surviving is his wife of almost 39 years Maryanne (Pauszek) Panfil, whom he married May 5, 1979, children Jonathan (Jennifer Nusstien) Panfil of Angola, Elizabeth Panfil of Dunkirk, his K9 companion “Madison”, sister-in-law Virginia Panfil of Virginia, father and motherin-law Raymond I and Ann Pauszek of Dunkirk, an uncle Ralph Panfil of Rochester, along with nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death in addition to his parents are brothers David and Zenon “Chuck” Panfil.

The family will be present at the church one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial Services that will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.
