Robert H Russell “Doc”

Robert Henry Russell, 80 of Dunkirk NY went to the Lord on June 8th, 2018. He was born in Coudersport PA April 18, 1938. Bob graduated from Coudersport High School in 1956 and joined the United States Airforce stationed in

Germany where he met and married the love of his life Hannelore (Rinke) Russell. Bob was hired by General

Electric in Erie PA as a welder and later became an Inspector until his retirement in 2004 at which time

he became a full time bus driver for CARTS of Chautauqua County where he fully retired in 2015.

Bob was very active in both his church and community serving nearly 50 years in the Hook & Ladder Volunteer Fire

department holding the office of Treasurer while serving as a proud member of the Knights of Columbus

(4th Degree Knight) and had many memberships in the local clubs in Dunkirk including the Loyal Order

of the Moose, The Fireman’s Exempt Club, Veterans of WWII club on Lakeshore Dr. and many others. Bob was an usher

at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish’s 8:00am mass each Sunday for many years and gave his heart and soul to God and his family.

Bob was so very proud of his entire family. He is survived by his lovely wife Hannelore Russell whom he married in 1960, 3 children Ellen Lynne (Thomas Bird) Luczkowiak, Steven (Donna) Russell, Gregory (Dawn Wick) Russell, and the light of his life were his 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Erin (Rick) Herling, Ryan (Vy Doan) Luczkowiak, James Luczkowiak, Amanda Russell, Kylie Mae Russell, Ashley Russell, Nicholas & Kristen Russell along with Alexander Luczkowiak, Angela & Riley Herling; two sisters, Virginia Fanch-er and Barbara McLeod; along with several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Earl & Mildred Russell of Coudersport PA, Sister Jean Stives, and 2 brothers John & Tom Russell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Full Military Honors will be accorded by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A prayer service will be conducted by the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

Entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum of St. Mary’s Cemetery.
