Harvey Vern Gaffney

Harvey Vern Gaffney, 83 of Westfield, N.Y. went to join his beloved wife Shirley of 42 years on August 20, 2018 just one year after her passing. Harvey was born on Onaway, MI to Alvin Vern Gaffney and Thelma Nadine Minier on December 4, 1934. Harvey moved from Flint, MI to Westfield after meeting the love of his life and the true beginning of his life with Shirley and a ready made family. He found a new life here and loved it. So many good friends.Surviving are his children Gustav Newman of Mayville N.Y., Mary Ann (Paul) Myers of Westfield, N.Y., and Donna Miller of Conneautville, PA. Sister Lois Meldrum of Flint, MI and a brother Richard (Joann) Gaffney of Mt. Morris, MI, several nieces and nephews, a special cousin Victor (Phylis) Flewelling, a special friend Claude Abbey and family, Nancy Hurbert and his coffee buddies.Along with his parents and wife Harvey was preceded by two children Kenneth Miller in 1981 and Peggy Martin in 2007.Harvey worked at Renold, Inc. the he and Shirley drove truck for many years and after retiring worked for Green Thumb. He loved Motorcycles and loved riding that lawn mower.
