Alan R. “Al” Thrasher, 59 of Gerry, passed away Tuesday, November 20,
2018 at UPMC Chautauqua. Born January 13, 1959 in Jamestown a son of the late
Dean and Gladys Wilmark Thrasher. He formerly attended school at Cassadaga Valley Central School and in his early years was employed at Jamestown Metal Products. Since 1976, Al was a self-employed welder/fabricator, operating
Thrasher’s Welding. He was a member of the Der-Kobblers Car Club, Past President and member of the former Four Wheel Drive Club. Al enjoyed restoring classic cars, building hot rods and race cars, including his brother’s and other drivers cars, who raced at Eriez and Stateline Speedways. Al was a true Chevrolet man who enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale
and Dale, Jr. fan. He loved his dogs, Caesar, Sarge and Pieces. Father of Jacob Near of Dewittville, Cassidy J., Jasmine L. and Rosetta Thrasher-Miller all of Randolph; brother of Mark and Paul Thrasher both of Gerry; Uncle of Katlen and Corey Thrasher, Ashlyn McKane and Jackie Wolffe; brother-in-law of Michele Thrasher. Also survived by Virginia Miller, the mother of his daughters. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Gerry Free Methodist Church, 4500 Church St., Gerry. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Burial in Gerry Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, memorials to: Alan R.
