Fredric Almet Josephson

Fredric Almet Josephson, 83, formerly of Cassadaga, passed away Sunday, Mar. 3, 2019. Born November 26, 1935 on the family farm in Stockton, son of the late Almet and Maxine MacCubbin Josephson. He was a lifelong Cassadaga resident. Fred was employed as a truck driver with Morris Miller and then drove bus for D&F Transit, Niagara Scenic, Cassadaga Valley Central School and CARTS.He was a 50 year member and previously held numerous offices, including Chief, with the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department. “Dad” loved mowing his lawn, tinkering with his John Deere lawn tractor, a good joke, fish fry at The Club and spending time with his family. Husband of 57 years to the late Joan Schleder Josephson, who he married Aug. 9, 1958 and died Oct. 21, 2015; father of Loni (Dana) Griffith and Kristen (William) Jones all of Bemus Point, Leslie (Christopher) King of Sarasota,

FL, Melissa (Rick) Slaven of Lenior, NC and the late Jon Josephson; grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of seven; brother of, Walfred (Renee) and Almet “Toots” (Connie) Josephson all of Cassadaga and the late William and Dana Josephson. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Fred’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the residents and staff of Berquist Assisted Living Facility at Heritage Village, for making dad part of their family for the past year, the Doctors and nursing staff of UPMC Chautauqua for their compassion and care in the last weeks, and not least, thank you to his brothers and sisters in the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department, who have supported and cared for him his entire adult life. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at Park United Methodist Church, 49 Sinclair Dr., Sinclairville. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Friday at Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
