Patricia M. “Patty” Guest, 67, of Dunkirk, N.Y. passed away at her home March 12, 2019, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Patty was born on June 16, 1951 in Dunkirk, N.Y. the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Kinney) Guest.

She was an area resident her entire life. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1969.

Patty was a kind and caring person, she loved animals especially cats. For several years she spent her lunch hour and weekends feeding feral cats. Patty never missed a day no matter how inclement the weather was.

She was devoted to her family, God and church. For many years she decorated St. Joseph’s Church for all the occasions. She took pride in making sure that all her work was meticulously and beautifully done. Patty also enjoyed working in her yard and decorating her home especially for Christmas, St. Patrick’s and Halloween.

Patty had been employed in the office of Ames Department Store in Dunkirk and was a 26 year employee of Carriage House in Fredonia retiring in 2015 when the plant closed.

Patty is survived by her three sisters Dorothy Guest, Kathleen Guest, Betty Jean (Robert) Tripp and her brother Thomas (Donna) Guest. Also a nephew Brian (Susan) Tripp, niece Stephanie (Eric) Deszcz and great nephews Nicholas and Andrew Deszcz, her aunt Joan Kinney, many cousins and her best friend Mary Ann Clark also survive. She leaves behind her kitties, Topher, Katie, Sunny, Ebbie and Annie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated this morning at 11 o’clock in St. Joseph Church, 145 East Main Street, Fredonia. Calling hours will be held this morning from 10-11 a.m., one hour prior to the Mass in the gathering room in the church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
