Philip Samuel Arcoraci

Philip Samuel Arcoraci, 89, of Fredonia, NY died on April 6, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on July 19, 1929 to the late Ferdinando and Lucy (Floramo) Arcoraci.

He attended Dunkirk High School and was in the Army Air Force, serving from 1947-1949. In 1966, Phil married the love of his life, Sandy Wilkins, and together they raised a family of four children. They had been married for 53 years.

Phil had been employed at the AI Tech Steel Plant as an electrical supervisor for over 43 years and a member of the Hazmat Response Team. For many years, he was a real estate agent for Midtown Realty. Phil owned and operated the Texaco gas station in Forestville, NY and a tropical fish aqaurium shop on Liberty Street in Fredonia, NY. Phil and Sandy were the landlords of many properties in the Fredonia area and he even built two houses for his wife. He could fix almost anything and was willing to help out anyone in need. He thoroughly enjoyed driving his heavy equipment bulldozer, backhoe, etc.

Phil was very active in the community, belonging to the Beaver Club of Fredonia and the Moose, Columbus clubs and Elks Lodge 922 in Dunkirk. He raced motorcycles in endural races, enjoyed dirt bike riding and was a member of local bowling leagues in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area.

Phil was a devoted husband and father who worked hard throughout his years to provide a good life for his wife and children. He even traveled eight times to Italy with his mother so she could visit her sister.

Philip is survived by his two daughters, Lori Sam and Denise (Dean) Haskins of Fredonia, NY and his son, Dean Arcoraci of Wisconsin. He is further survived by his sisters, Concetta “Connie” (Albert) Kuehn of Fredonia, and Geraldine “Gerry” (Peter) Gugino of Brant, NY, four grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Phil was predeceased by his son, Daniel Arcoraci, brothers, Fred and Carmello “Mello” Arcoraci, half brothers Louis, Carmello and Anthony, and three sisters, Nunziata Farsaci, Frances Abbatta and Angela Pascaretta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Church in Fredonia with the Reverend Joseph Walter, Pastor, as the celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the 10 a.m. Funeral Mass and may call at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY on April 9, 2019 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia, NY.
