LAS VEGAS: Heart breaks over horror

If you see the U.S. flag at half staff locally, think of those whose lives changed in a matter of minutes.

America and our region remains in disbelief over the Las Vegas shootings that killed 59 and injured hundreds more. Across Western New York, many have the horrific incident on their mind. We know people who travel to the city in Nevada on a regular basis. We also know others who live there.

On Monday, state Gov. Andrew Cuomo directed flags at all government buildings to be at half staff to honor the victims and keep them in our thoughts through sunset Friday. Keep those family members and friends close to the victims in your prayers — or through a moment of silence.
