How was your Mother’s Day?

Did you have a nice Mothers Day?

I did. I don’t know where my son and daughter-in-law find those beautiful cards! I hope I live up to all those praises! Russ and I tried to be good parents. I know he was great!

Then David Kaus, a friend from my Bible class, took me out for lunch after church. We got to Bob Evans around eleven. They were mobbed! We were told we’d have to wait one and a half hours, so we left. We tried DeJohn’s. They were closed, so we tried what used to be Dickenson’s. I believe it is called Domus Fare. They had a line too, but they were moving. A cook and a waiter own it now. They are great! The waitress was very helpful. We were very satisfied!

I couldn’t believe how many people were eating out! We always ate home, but there were so many kids eating out! Everyone was so well behaved! It was a great Mothers Day!

John Yaeger brought me a box of Russell Stover chocolates (my favorites!). It’s nice to be an adopted mom for those who have lost their moms. I’ll play second fiddle anytime! I’m so grateful for the mom I had! That-a-way, Pop! You knew how to pick ’em! He wanted her and he waited for her to grow up!

I loved being a mother! Having been born with a hole in my heart, I didn’t know if I could do that, but my boys were born 18 months apart. I did fine! Then Russ was on the road and I was father to them, too. It’s a good thing I was sports-minded. As it was, Rusty was sports-minded and Dan loved books. They were so different! I loved being a mother.

We lost Rusty at the age of 30. He died in an electrical accident. Dan lives in Florida.

I used to say I wanted a football team. Oh well. We enjoy what we get. I gave them a great Dad!
