Our elites need to look in the mirror

I am fed up with the bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. Let’s take a hard look at these so-called lawmakers.

Consider a proposed 28th amendment to the Constitution that states: “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.”

Congress seems to be a self-serving situation. Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans. Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans. Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term. Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many laws they have passed, which ordinary citizens must live under. Members of Congress are exempt from any fear of prosecution on sexual harassment. They have also exempted themselves from health care reform in all of its aspects.

The American people cannot tolerate an elite class of such people that are elected public servants and then putting themselves above the law. It really doesn’t matter what party they belong to. This self-serving must stop. Governors of 35 states have already filed suit against the federal government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states. It only takes 38 of the 50 states to convene a constitutional convention.

We all know and must agree with our president that we must drain the swamp in Washington, D.C. This is a great example why we must support our president because this mess has been going on forever. Other presidents just did not care or were too afraid, but Donald Trump is not. If you care at all about this mess in Washington, D.C., then support our President because he will have your back, not like prior administrations. This guy is way different because he was never a leach of the people. He earned his credentials, not as a politician, but as an entrepreneur. What politician can say that, including those who despise him?

Some of these leeches have been in office more than 30 years. What have they accomplished in that time?

The American people are not stupid. They chose Trump for president because they were fed up with our government as it was. This president has only been in office for 11 months and look what he has accomplished. Millions of working companies staying in the United States and hiring.

Congress, however, needs some serious reform.
