Trump’s win one for the ‘People’

Editor, OBSERVER:

“We the People” have been ignored by our political elected officials for years. They have catered to their special interest groups and political lobbyists. They “believe” that they know what is best for us. They know what is right. They “believe” they can do no wrong.

President Donald Trump ran a campaign free of special interest donors and lobbyists.  He is not beholden to anyone but the American people. This, in my opinion, speaks volumes for “We the People.”

Everyone knows the words that start out the first paragraph of our United States Declaration of Independence. I want to quote the first two sentences of the second paragraph: “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.  –  That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”  Our political elected officials have forgotten this message or just choose to ignore it believing, “We the People” are too “stupid” to know better.

This was a critical election for “We the People” and for our rights and freedoms. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights was at stake as well.
