Labels only confuse issues

Could we please stop saying “Repeal and Replace?” Words matter.
As long as that is the mantra, Republicans will be trapped by a rallying cry that failed and Democrats will refuse to cooperate. Meanwhile, thousands of people are anxious about very real medical problems they already face or may face in the future.
Stop calling it ObamaCare, the Affordable Care Act, American Health Care Act, TrumpCare or RyanCare. Find a new name.
Sen. Lindsey Graham is right. Republicans and Democrats need to jointly craft a health-care plan, without the distraction of saving face or fighting about which party “wins”.
Don’t let words get in the way. Focus on how American people will win. Words matter. Words always matter.

Track team leads the way
Editor, OBSERVER:
A quintillion kudos to the amazing quartet of the Dunkirk-Silver Creek girls indoor track and field athletic team featured in the sports section of the OBSERVER (March 13). Cheers to Emilee, Jericha, Jaylah and Emma who competed so brilliantly and are role models for kids from 1 to 102!
Last fall, the AARP magazine featured an article on “The Keys to Ending Age-Related Decay.”
They included daily exercise, good nutrition, emotional commitment and a real engagement with living. But it starts with exercise and you have to do it every day. Just viewing the photo of these healthy, strong, beautiful-looking young women makes me confident that they will all follow a fine and fit formula for a good life!
May we all follow their example, even if it’s just walking for 30 minutes every day!
I would like to reiterate Coach Adam Woelfle’s words: “I am so proud of these girls and what they accomplished and making a name for our area.”
The coach also stated that thanks go out to the schools and community for their support. Agreed.
