It has been two and a half years since the Leonard Aldrich family, owner of Aldrich’s Dairy and Ice Cream Parlor on Route 60 in Fredonia, began making ice cream in their “ice cream room” at their Beef and Dairy Bar next to the Aldrich farm. In the first year, the Aldriches produced around 20,000 gallons of ice cream. This year they expect to exceed 30,000 gallons, an increase of 50 percent. Ice cream is produced one day a week now and is a two-man operation. It is sold exclusively at Aldrich’s.
