An article about Fredonia’s Forest Hill Cemetery refers to the Koch Mausoleum which stands prominently in the northern part of the cemetery. It is owned by the Koch family of Bradford, Pa. He supervised the building of one of the company’s gas stations at the corner of Fifth Street and Central Avenue in Dunkirk, now the Dunkirk Optometric Center. Reportedly, Mr. Koch liked the area so much he built the mausoleum in the 1930s.
