The city of Dunkirk will be paid about $52,000 for the land acquisition by the state at the corner of Doughty and Lamphere streets if the Dunkirk Common Council approves the decision reached between city officials and representatives of the State Department of Transportation. The proposed cost will cover the entire cost of the aborted Hose 4 fire hall construction projects — $35,000 in round figures — and includes about $17,000 as reimbursement for “consequential damages” for the city of Dunkirk.
