Dunkirk Police got themselves in a sticky situation on Halloween night when they investigated a report that a Conrail tank car was leaking corn syrup at a railroad siding near the Cliffstar Corp. on Cliffstar Avenue in Dunkirk. Police report a valve on the car was opened by vandals allowing the corn syrup to run 100 feet down the tracks. Conrail officials were notified of the problem at 11:43 p.m. The value of the corn syrup was unknown.
