Regional plan worth effort
We applaud members of the Chadwick Bay Regional Development Corp. for their continued push for a health-care consortium between municipalities.
As many tied to local governments know, health-care costs are a major expense to the annual budgets. The consortium, which could be made up of other governments reaching into Cattaraugus County, is a step in the right direction.
Tompkins County, which is home to the progressive city of Ithaca, already has a consortium that saves on costs. If New York state truly wants sharing and consolidation of services, this effort by Chadwick Bay needs to move forward.
