Local effort makes difference
There’s a campaign currently going on that allows northern Chautauqua County residents to make a difference every day in the lives of thousands. If it sounds too good to be true, it is not. It’s the United Way campaign.
A number of non-profit agencies and individuals benefit from giving by residents. Some of those partner programs include:
¯ American Red Cross for its disaster services.
¯ Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers with programs and Latino outreach.
¯ Chautauqua Blind Association for vision rehabilitation education and screening.
¯ Chautauqua County Rural Ministry for its Friendly Kitchen and other services.
¯ Literacy Volunteers for tutoring of English and English as Second Language.
¯ Westfield Community Kitchen.
A number of businesses and community organizations are being counted on to help fundraise for these and other vital services the United Way helps provide. How far can your donation go? Through the United Way, a $2 donation can go toward meals for a family of four. A $30 donation can help secure 12 hours of day programs for seniors.
For more information, or to donate, contact the United Way at 366-5424.
