CSX: No response on the tracks
That is the number of days since our story was published in print and online on the CSX grain cars and the local officials who have asked for the cars to be removed. The cars are located on the tracks between Second and Third streets in the city. It started with Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas, followed by County Executive George Borrello and then U.S. Rep. Tom Reed.
As of Monday evening, the train cars remained.
CSX owns the tracks — and can do what they wish. But they also, as part of this community, could be a good neighbor and do what’s been requested of them.
