UB football is excite-a-’Bull’

Just because the Buffalo Bills are nearly unwatchable does not mean the sports scene in the state’s Queen City is a lost cause. The National Hockey League Sabres have shown tremendous improvement compared to last year and the minor-league Bisons had the hottest prospect in baseball in Vladmir Guerrero Jr. toward the end of their season.

But the most impressive team at this point? It’s the football University at Buffalo Bulls.

On Election night, the team put together a dominant victory over Kent State. There was offense as the Bulls racked up 48 points — or half of what the Bills have scored through nine games — in addition to a dominant defense.

With the win, the Bulls are 9-1 — and unlike the pros — are headed to the postseason. In college football, that means bowl eligible.
