Christmas events over the weekend — in Gowanda, Silver Creek and Fredonia — drew crowds and support for local merchants, which is excellent to see.
“There’s so many people. I don’t even know where they all came from,” said Josh Richardson, who was in attendance during Christmas in Gowanda.
Barker Common in Fredonia also reported a nice turnout. “I’ve been doing this 18 years, this is the biggest year yet,” said Peggy Rose of The Cakery. “We’re selling out. Usually we do about 100 (gingerbread) houses a year- this year we’re probably at about 160.”
Shopping season — with 21 days till Christmas — is definitely upon us. Take a look around your downtown for some great gifts.
