There is a lot of pride and history in the Fredonia wrestling program that has been built through a winning tradition. This year, another chapter has been written.

Four team members over the weekend made it to the section finals, with two winning section titles and heading to Albany later this month. Those wrestlers include Gio Russo and Ceric Kristan, who won section titles while Dalton Gardner and Jake Skinner made the finals. “I believe we placed eight in the top six which is the most I have been a part of in my tenure as head coach, so that is pretty exciting,” said Fredonia coach Joe Santilli. “Four finalists … that’s pretty excellent.”

Congratulations from this corner also are extended to Dave Ball from Gowanda, who heads to the state tournament for his first time.
