Good news with traffic jams
May 20, 2009 - John D'Agostino
Last year, I wrote about the same topic. And it's a good problem.
Last weekend, as more than 1,300 students were preparing to graduate, a call came over our office scanner: "Traffic is terrible over here."
Over here was Fredonia. And it was "terrible." People turning off Central Avenue to Temple Street had to be careful they were not blocking the intersection as the line stretched all the way to Water Street.
And it was graduation traffic, which means -- more business for village and city restaurants; more people using our hotels and motels; more people walking around and buying materials.
Most importantly, it means more people noticing what good things are here. As I said earlier, it's a good problem.
