Waves of activity

Waterfront activity will be heating up starting this week in Dunkirk.

For starters, the Music on the Pier series begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a performance by The Steve Johnson Band. The series continues weekly until Sept. 10.

Also this Friday, the second annual Wreck and Roll event is planned in the city. A number of events, including a beer and wine tasting competition, a chicken wing cook-off as well as firemen's hose races, will be taking place.
