Do as I say, not as I do

September 21, 2010 - Shawn Paulus

On October 1st New York state will be reintroducing the sales tax on clothing and footwear. This is part of the grand scheme of things in Albany to help close the budget gap.

Our wonderful state Sen. Catharine Young says:

“I voted against this regressive tax increase that hurts family budgets, and every one of their other record-setting, job-killing tax hikes and spending increases.”

Wow this coming from the person who has increased her own spending the past 6 months by 18.1 percent.

Is this a case of the pot calling the kettle black or what? Can someone out there jog my memory and remind me what she has done to help reduce any spending in this state. All I ever hear her say is she voted no for this or that. What has she introduced to the state of New York to actually help cut spending?

Oh, she likes to bring those nice big checks to the area and smile pretty for the camera. The look at me I bring “free money” to the area pictures we run in the newspaper.

So let’s see if I understand myself here (I doubt I can, but what the heck). She is yelling at the top of her lungs saying she is against all of these spending increases or tax increases. Yet, she is spending more herself and giving away a lot of that “free money” which is taxpayers’ money.

As I see it, she is no better than the exact same people she is bashing.

We do not get any money Mr. Muscato for a number of reasons. First. There are not enough votes in Dunkirk to warrant spending money here. Why you ask? Well for one thing there are people living in the city and county that are not citizens and therfore ineligible to vote. As a career politician Muscato you should know this.

What has anybody done to help reduce spending. At least she votes no on increases. You tell me why we the taxpayers of her district are not entitled to recieve some of the tax money we send to the State. If we don't get it some other area will. When taxes are reduced, the money won't be there to give back to any district. Sen. Young is only one vote and well respected in a Democratic area.
