I didn't say that

January 6, 2012 - Shawn Paulus
Yeah, it’s me and you are still entitled to my opinion.

I was listening to the State of the State address online Wednesday night, which is the best way to do this so you can avoid all the applause with a simple move of the mouse.

Anyway, I wouldn’t say I was greatly depressed with the speech. There were some great things that came out of the speech, like … and there was … And the part about the…. That really got me thinking, wow, New York is really coming out of the toilet. But I think the best part was on the …

My point is the speech was not that bad and chock full of hope. It was, however, very lean on any specifics like Medicaid and welfare reform, state spending cuts and all the great stuff our county officials whine about on a monthly basis.

Am I being vague on what I am saying? You bet I am — and so was Gov. Coumo. That way, like the governor, I can’t be ridiculed when I do not do anything specific.

I can simply say, “I didn’t say that.”

American students go to school to learn the point you're making here, and the course is Political Science. If anyone wants a successful career as an overpaid pol who receives an unconscionable pension (which BTW, has become the norm for any well-paid public servant), it is strongly recommended you learn BS, oops, I mean PS. It'll teach you how to smile, how to dress, what to say, what not to say, etc. It will also discuss topics like economic theories, ideologies, philosophies, etc. Only in America can you take a course to learn how to deceive the public in order to stay in office and/or attain selfish goals as a career politician. Is this a great country or what?

Cuomo will be careful not to step on the toes of special interests. He will need their cash when he runs for president in 2016. Drug companies and hospital organizations are the beneficiaries of our elaborate medicaid system so cutting medicaid would be held against Cuomo.
