The report lists one Chautauqua County employee making $162,894. Why bother peddling drugs or robbing banks when you can work for the county? A report from the county office of real property taxes covering the period ending May 31, 2013 reveals a property tax comparison as follows based on a home assessed at $100,000.00: Jamestown - $3,126.00, Dunkirk - $3,786.00, Brocton - $3,422.00, Fredonia - $3,784.00, and Westfield - $3,762.00. So, when you are wondering why our county is going down the drain all you need to do is read these figures again.
