About 35 veterans were saluted on Friday at the Chautauqua County Home.
Those who spoke during the ceremony included Sgt. 1st Class William C. Shepard of the 642nd Aviation Support Battalion. The East Aurora native oversees the Dunkirk and Olean armories. He called all veterans "saviors" of the United States of America.
Fredonia Mayor Stephen Keefe also thanked the veterans, who represented World War II, Korea and Vietnam, at the luncheon.
