Struggle at Brooks: Negotiations continue

August 13, 2014 - John D'Agostino
Workers took to the streets last week to send a message.

Members of the Service International Employees Union 1199 picketed in front of the hospital during the afternoon of Aug. 7 and then attended a rally at Washington Park. Members spoke of the compassion they have for the patients they serve.

Jack Davis, vice president of administration, spoke about the negotiations during a recent meeting. Click on the link at right to hear his remarks about the talks with SEIU 1199.

We know the union is not going to back down and in the process patient care will suffer. Just close the hospital. If the employees need more money they can travel to Cleveland or Buffalo to work. Then the extra money will go towards car repairs and gas. Not to mention the hours stranded on the roadways during the winter storms.
