Celebrating our country, region
What a weekend! For many, the three-day Fourth of July holiday weekend was a time to pay tribute to our country and celebrate our freedom. It was also a chance to think about how truly fortunate we are to live in this area. On Sunday, Dunkirk resident Roger Orcutt, Ph.D., wrote an article and took out an advertisement in this newspaper proclaiming this area “the best kept secret” in the nation. For the past three days, his words rang true. Perfect weather, plenty to celebrate and a hope that brighter days are ahead for the city and our region. A special thanks to all those who worked during the holiday. Your efforts helped make the weekend special, that includes those who were part of the city fireworks display, which continues to receive rave reviews. All in all our weekend, you could say, was a blast.
