Four Lady Hillbillies qualify for Sectionals
OBSERVER?Staff?Report OLEAN — The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies had four swimmers qualify for Sectionals, after competing in the CCAA Division 1 girls’ County swimming meet Thursday. MacKenzie Crist qualified with a first place win in the 200-yard IM (2:28.70) and a second place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:08.82). Elizabeth Gawronski’s fourth place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.44) qualified her for sectionals and she also came in second in the 200 freestyle (2:13.92). Annie Griffith captured the second spot in the 100 backstroke (1:02.57) to earn her sectional bid. She also qualified in the 50 freestyle (26.42), where she finished second. The trio of Crist, Gawronski and Griffith along with Amanda Wickmark held the number two spot in the 200 medley relay (2:04.80). Crist, Gawronski, Griffith and Courtney Eckstrom grabbed second in the 400 freestyle relay (4:08.87). Both teams qualified for Sectionals.
