I can’t believe June is gone already. June 28 and the Fourth of July are historic days in my personal life. I was born on June 28 and I got married on the Fourth of July. Then June 28 became historical for my son, Dan, and his wife, Dot. They got married on my birthday in 1986. Now, how many future daughters-in-law would share their wedding day with their future mother-in-law’s birthday? You don’t know Dot (Dorothy). She not only honored my birthday, she and Dan surprised us with a 40th wedding day cake! Russ and I were totally surprised. The kids figured all the family were there, why not celebrate everything in one day? This was preview of coming attractions. They still are that way. They share everything with anybody. They are the least materialistic couple I know. I’m so proud of them! And what did I do this year? I forgot June 28 was their day too! Fortunately, now I can blame everything on my age. Now let’s talk about the Fourth of July. This says so much about our country.
