Starting Five: Pine Valley will look to a mix of seniors and sophomores to carry them to a third straight Section 6 Class D championship. Seniors Joel Hallett, Chadd Rexford and Joey Tingue will be joined by sophomores Marcus Astray and Brendan Bentham in the starting lineup of first-year head coach Chris Buczek. Role Players: Seniors Brendyn Mosher and Jordan Connors will come off the bench for Buczek and will be joined by junior Cory Heitzenrater and sophomore Ed Barnes. Season Outlook: The Pine Valley boys’ basketball team has had a run of success in recent years going to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D semifinal in 2005 before back-to-back trips to the Class D Far West regional the last two seasons. The Panthers lost to C.G. Finney in 2007 and Northstar Christian last season.
