As with so many appeals, "trust in God" not only goes unanswered, but is relied upon by those who would use God's name. In this case, however, no one is doing that; they rely on their interpretation of the 2nd amendment and think themselves patriots ready to oppose our government. Aside from the fact that "our government" is US (and thus subject to other provisions of the Constitution, namely voting), they think that the "militia" specified in the 2nd amendment means them! THEY are to protect us from WHAT or WHO? I don't fear a government take-over of our liberties. I fear that the government will not (has not) protected us well from Big Everything: the money that buys politicians (including the NRA). I'm absolutely amazed that the Tea Kettle people are not alarmed at the extent of Big Business' influence on our daily lives. Sure, there are advantages (if we're selfish).
