Maggie, i think you got the cart before the horse. helping people will not help this area. You are rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. better to create a good business climate rather than help after the job loss. We have tons of do gooders in this area. . Maybe give people money to move out. That would be best I think.

Mrs. Valone, that was a wonderful piece of writing. I admire your positive attitude, and although there are days I feel more like Steiner, people like you lift me up, and I thank-you for that. You and your sister are the village's elders and I respect both of you. Mrs. J. C. was a study hall teacher of mine, and I just loved her. I recently called her because she was on my mind. It was so lovely to talk with her, and I just learned you all were sisters. Both of you make the world, and in particular our village, a much better place--your kindness and sense of humor are gifts. I told Mrs.C I was going to stop in to see her one of these days, and she told me "You better hurry; I'm 91." Classic-kept me laughing for weeks!!
