OK - let's do the math. Fredonia has 11,068 residents and a budget of $9,580,000. That translates into spending per resident of $865.56. In comparison, Dunkirk has 12,568 residents and a budget of $21,959,057. That translates into spending per person in Dunkirk of $1,747.92. CONCLUSION - spending in Dunkirk per resident is more than double the spending in Fredonia. Fredonia has 63 full time employees while Dunkirk has more than double that number. The mayor in Fredonia is paid $12,000 annually while in Dunkirk the mayor is paid nearly $60,000. I guess all this explains why the quality of life is so much better in Dunkirk than in Fredonia!

Jobs are not coming to Fredonia anymore than they are coming to Dunkirk and eventually Carriage House in Fredonia will close as it did in Dunkirk. As for entertainment if there were good jobs here Buffalo would suffice for entertainment and even shopping. Jobs are the key and jobs are not coming here. Fredonia will be infiltrated with more welfare residents and not be the quaint wonderful Village it once was. Very sad but very true.

The mayor of Buffalo has called on every business to hire one additional employee. This could be a challenge issued to our local businesses. It even a percentage responds it would help the local economy.
