And when you are ready to go, you will be welcomed into the home regardless of who owns it.

FredoniaFred...not necessarily. In another report on the future of public nursing homes in our state, the CGR reports that when a public owned nursing home is sold to a private group, that up to 25% of the residents are NOT accepted, and thus have NO where to go. Read this report on the same web page as the report they made specifically for our Home.

Oh yes, we will remember. I hope with a Thank You for those who had the courage to vote NO as well.

More importantly Mr Lisa, you need to fully understand the caliber and character of your neighbors, associates and folks who elected and support the 16 legislators in the first place -- they're the ones who wanted to save money at the expense of the elderly, incapacitated and frail.

Thank you Mr Lisa, for giving us (as you put it) a thought-provoking perspective with your letter, and a face we can put on this issue.

You are a well-respected member of this community, and your patriotic duty during WWII is immeasurable, even if Edwards & 16 members of the CCLeg choose to view someone like you as an unnecessary cost instead of a moral obligation to help care for during your waning years.

Shame on them and all the others who feel this way. However, I must thank them too, for they have erased all doubts on whether my move away from Chat Co was the right choice.

hey Mr Lisa, we live in a republic, not a democracy. There is no amendment or law saying that caring is the main objective of govt. I know that is hard for a lib. i was weeping when I read yor article ! I am on my way to becoming a liberal. Bu all means our leaders must bankrupt the govt so the libs can feel good.tax the wealthy. The 16 who voted to sell had the right thing in mind. Frank, your mind has become clouded as the libs worked on it over they years. . Lets make it as it was in the USSR, you can have any opinion or candidate as long as it is communist or in this case, a caring, sharing , chickified govt person. I am sobbing now frank !

Captain:Yes Captain you made the right choice, and thousands of others are making the same choice, there is nothing here job wise anymore. If the politicians in this County would put as much time and effort into getting jobs back in this area instead of trying to find ways to cut services, things might be different, but I never see that happening, not with the current County Executive and some of these legislators anyways.

Actually Steinerdzzz, the preamble to the Constitution does explicity state the reason for government is to promote the general welfare of the people...so Mr. Illiterate, again, you've no idea what you're talking about.

Besides, speaking of entitlements, when are you going to give back all that excess social security $ you receive every month? How about all the extra Medicare benefit $s you receive? Surely, according to you, the government should take care of you...so why not be a stand-up guy and refuse it, if not give it back???

Hypocrite.

Steiner: An intelligent man has something to say. A fool has to say something. Mr. Lisa is an intelligent man, and, you, Mr. Steiner, are a fool who has to say something. What you say is always the same and the intent with which you say it is also the same: hateful,mean-spirited,ugly, and predictable. WWJD, Steiner???

Why would anyone want to put a relative in the County Home. It is one of the lowest if not the lowest nursing homes in the county. I believe a one star rating. Government should do for the people what the people cannot do for themselves. Seems there is enough doing in the private sector.
